Guilt-free healthy snack #3 Baked tortilla chips and salsa

This is meant to be eaten as a 100 calorie snack and not a meal. If you are eating frequent small meals and snacks then this should satisfy you until your next meal.

Recipe is simple. I use small low carb tortillas which have 80 calories each and 4 NET carbs. I only make one tortilla at a time but feel free to make as many as you want at once and make individual servings out of each tortilla.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or  use a non stick baking pan. Spray the parchment with a little cooking spray. Then cut each tortilla in half and then quarters. Coat them with a quick spray of PAM. Then sprinkle them with a little sea salt and whatever spice you like. I like a mixture of cumin and chili powder. Bake them in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for about 5 minutes and then turn them over and bake for another 5 minutes.  Everyone’s oven is a little different so keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.  Take them out of the oven and let them cool down. Then spoon a little salsa on each chip. Salsa is only 10 calories per 2 tbsp., almost carb-free and fat-free so you can be liberal with the salsa. OLE!

(If you can’t find low carb tortillas you can use regular small wheat or corn tortillas for a slightly higher carb count)

    I made these. They were very good but I had them with a little guacamole.
